  I am new to this area as of August 2012 (wife is in Navy). Calvary Chapel is a smaller church located in the historic downtown area. The church building is am old 40s/50s movie theater (I think I got the era correct). Most of all the people and the pastor are very kind and friendly. The pastor teaches verse by verse and chapter by chapter through God's Word, and he is a very good teacher. This church accepts all sorts of people no matter your color or background. If you like a church that preaches the truth without apology, a church that loves liberty (and Ron Paul), and church that isn't afraid of speaking out about current events than this is your church family. You know, a real church instead of a snobby plastic one
